The intent:

You already know the answer.

This prompt isn't asking you to discover something new. It's asking you to stop looking away from something that's already there.

The thing you keep filing under "it's fine" is exactly where this prompt is pointing.

The reason it's hard isn't because you can't see it. It's because admitting it's bothering you means you might have to do something about it.

So you keep carrying it.

One way in:

Start with "it's fine." Now finish it honestly.

What have you been telling yourself is fine that isn't? It might not even be something big.

Sometimes the things we pretend aren't bothering us are the small daily erosions that don't look like anything from the outside but feel like everything on the inside.

Write the first thing that surfaces. Don't explain it. Don't soften it with "but."

Just name it and let it sit on the page without you managing it for once.

What might come up:

Relief. You might not realize how much energy the pretending was costing until you stop for sixty seconds.

But underneath the relief, anger. At yourself for letting it go this long. At the people around you for not seeing it.

And underneath that, grief. For the version of you that deserved to be bothered by it a long time ago and didn't feel allowed to be.

What do you need that you won't ask for?

The intent:

This isn't about material things.

It's about what you've been quietly starving for: help, rest, patience, someone to check on you without you having to fall apart first.

You might also notice that asking doesn't feel like a request. It feels like a confession.
